Nintex Apps
Back in the day, when I first started at Nintex, I had no idea what SharePoint was and had never used Nintex Workflow before. To ramp up quickly, there were two things I needed to do. First and foremost, I had to absorb as much knowledge from someone who knew it already, and hopefully they were someone that would be able to handle my never-ending, repetitive questions. Enter James Tyzack, who is now the Director of Engineering at Nintex. An amazing genius of a human being.
Second, I had to get my hands dirty and play with the tool. What occurred to me, was no matter how much documentation I read or searched through, it never really answered my questions. I needed to challenge myself and build workflows. As I was learning to use the tool, I thought to myself, if I’m asking these questions, would our customers and partners also ask these questions? That is how I originally came up with sharing my experiences through blogging.
Fast-forward 6,600 days, and I find myself in a similar position. This time though, with Nintex Apps. Ideas are popping up constantly, but I need to learn how to build apps, which means, I need to start blogging about how I’m learning and what I’m building.
If you haven’t looked at Nintex Apps, or played with it, I highly recommend it. You can build an amazing UI, extremely quickly. If you’ve built some workflows/forms for a specific department, you can now create an app to incorporate those into a single unified UI. If you need to build out some processes, have a great UI, and need to store some data, Nintex Apps, Workflow and Data all come together nicely.
As I progress with learning more and more about Nintex Apps, I’ll do my best to blog about my learnings. If you’re wondering how I’m learning this, there are a few ways. I challenge myself to build something first. Usually I have no idea if it’s possible, but I expect to hit a bunch of brick walls. I do my best to get around them on my own. When I can’t, I reach out to some smart folks who know Apps way better than me. My team of Solutions Engineers.
So… if you haven’t seen Nintex Apps, reach out to Nintex (or me) and let’s set up a call and we can show you what’s possible. Guess what… you’ll be talking to one of those very same SEs that I learn from.
